This landscape photo taken in Tikal, Guatemala, looks over the top of a jungle canopy in the lower 2/3s of the image, its colors ranging from bright lime to deep forest green. We look down on the archeological ruins of the Temple of Talud and Tablero in the lower left third of the image, and up to the Temple of the Double Headed Serpent in the upper right corner with its roof comb high above the treeline. A ridge of mountains can be seen on the horizon, several miles distant, with a blue cloudless sky above.

An additional perspective on Temple IV (Temple of the Double Headed Serpent) in the background, with Temple 33 in the foreground.  Only the base of Temple 33 now remains.  I sat at my photo vantage point for 15-minutes, listening to the jungle and birds.  Taken while we were cruising Central America in our sailboat 2000-2001.
