The fender sweeps back like a ski jump to the mounting step at the top left of the image. Above the fender several lines of chrome trim and a chrome mesh grill cuts at a 45-degree angle from the top left of the photo to the bottom right. Two shiny 3-inch corrugated chrome metal pipes protrude from the mesh grill. The pipes sweep backwards and re-insert into the large silver painted fender. The silver hood reflects more clouds in the top right of the image. Without knowing this is a vehicle, the image appears to be an abstract of a highly polished art deco machine.

While visiting friends in Ellijay who rented a cabin there, we drove to Dawsonville.  The owner of this 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster had parked it just off the main square.  The roadster’s silver finish and elegant curves captured my interest.
