Tikal became the most powerful kingdom of the ancient Maya, and it is awe-inspiring.  This shot of Temple II (Temple of the Masks) gives some perspective to the incredible design and construction required for Tikal’s temples.  Taken while we were cruising Central America in our sailboat 2000-2001.
